About Us

Ngok Siang is a youth-led collective committed to environmental conservation in Northeast India.

Who We Are

Our flagship Xihu Project focuses on protecting the endangered river dolphin, locally known as "Xihu" in Assamese, which inhabits the Siang and Brahmaputra rivers.

Driven by young students from Assam working across Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, we empower communities, students, and youth to become active stewards of our rivers through education, action, and sustainable practices.

Ngok Siang Team

Our Mission

To raise widespread awareness about the Xihu, preserve traditional knowledge, promote sustainable livelihoods, and advocate for the protection of river ecosystems for future generations.

Our Vision

A future where the Xihu swims freely in clean, vibrant rivers, and every community — young and old — cherishes and safeguards this vital part of our natural and cultural heritage.

Our Team

We are a dedicated group of college students and young leaders passionate about river conservation. Together, we bring creativity, energy, and on-ground action to make a real difference.
